Heavy-duty
steel stove pipe is designed for use in the residential and commercial
coal & wood burning units, and is intended for interior use only. In
many industrial, as well as public and domestic applications, the stove
pipes are exposed to elevated temperatures. Steel stove pipe is
preferred due to its high creep strength and ductility, with high
resistance to oxidation and HT corrosion and good resistance to
erosion-corrosion.
Apart from gas & some oil applications, steel stove pipe is
popularly designed to connect a wood stove to a nearby chimney, and is
available in different thicknesses. It is usually painted with a high
temperature black paint and some manufacturers produce steel stove pipe
in porcelain enamel colors to match their stoves. The welded seams of
these pipes assure the pipes roundness, making installation a very easy
task. Steel stove pipe is much lighter and is not prone to rust over
time.
