This variety of steel sheet is directly supplied as
a coil from the hot strip mill wherein no additional processing is
required. Such a variety of sheet is ideal for application where edges
or flatness, critical surfaces are required. Hot rolled sheet non
pickled non tempered was previously known as Hot rolled band. This
product is known
as
hot rolled unprocessed since it comes out of the hot strip mill as a
coil without further processing. This sheet is manufactured according to
a particular nominal thickness but can also be ordered to a minimum
thickness. There are certain peculiar characteristics of the of this
steel sheet like- it has a mill edge, tightly adhering scale on the
sheet surface of the sheet due to reheating. The coil head show
thickness and flatness variation as compared to the coil body. The sheet
has rounded edge known as "mill edge". The mill edge is
rounded and has no particular contour. Such a variety of sheet is ideal
for application in places where edges or flatness and critical edges are
not demanded.
